We are just over a month away from the 98th Annual Montana Farm Bureau Convention & Tradeshow in Billings.  We have an all-star lineup prepared this year and are so excited to share all of these great speakers with our members and guests.
Registration is open, so don’t miss your opportunity (or the discounted hotels) and register today.
All day Monday, attendees will get to participate in some high caliber workshops learning more about all things Montana agriculture.  There's so much more, but before we get too far ahead of ourselves, here’s just a small teaser of some of the workshop options.

Montana Water Court

Julie Brown and Madeleine Weisz, Water Masters with the Montana Water Court will be delivering an update on the adjudication process, exempt from filing rights and more.

Julie Brown is a Water Master at the Montana Water Court in Bozeman, MT. Prior to becoming a Water Master, Julie was in private practice where she mostly represented rural land owners in a variety of areas of law, specifically water and property law. Julie clerked for the Honorable Judge Todd in the 13th District Court following graduation from University of Montana School of Law in Missoula.
Julie grew up on the same farm/ranch operation north of Conrad, MT that her great-grandfather homesteaded and where her parents still reside. It was that agricultural upbringing which made Julie realize she wanted to go into law to assist individuals with similar backgrounds as her.

Madeleine Weisz has been a Water Master with the State of Montana Water Court since 2014. She grew up in Idaho and graduated from Montana State University in 2008 with a degree in Economics. After attending law school at UC Davis, Madeleine returned to Bozeman to pursue her interest in water law.

Land Purchasing Preparedness

Growth.  It seems to be the looming goal on every farmer or ranchers mind.  Trying to find creative ways to bring the next generation home, or being a young farmer and rancher who is looking to purchase their own property are all scenarios that often require purchasing land.  Even when all the ducks are in a row, purchasing land can be a complicated, time consuming process.  This workshop provides some great tools to make sure you’re ready to make a move the next time opportunity strikes.
Panelists Colter DeVries, Bo Kombol & Kelsey Rhinehart, NWFCS and Bruce Johnson, FSA will be leading a discussion on the ins and outs of planning your next big purchase.
There is so, so much more to come so register today and follow Montana Farm Bureau Annual Convention on Facebook for more updates and information!
