February 12-13, 2018 - Radisson Colonial Hotel - Helena

This seminar is a two-day strategy session for anyone who has thought about throwing their hat into the political ring.  The seminar is ideal for...

  • Candidates
  • Spouses
  • Campaign Managers
This campaign management seminar was developed by the American Farm Bureau Federation with input from political consultants and staff of both major political parties.  A case study and a computer campaign simulation assist in the presentation of the seminar.  These features allow participants the opportunity to have meaningful, hands-on, experience and to test techniques, tools and methods.

The seminar teaches participants how to evaluate the candidate and the electorate, build a campaign structure, raise money, enlist allies, create coalitions, and get last-minute election day voter attention.

The seminar is designed for candidates running for public office, their spouses, their campaign managers, individuals interested in running for public office in the future, and prospective campaign managers.  We encourage candidates, their spouses, and their campaign managers to attend and work as a team.

The instructor is Jay Ferris. Jay first joined the staff of Nebraska Farm Bureau in 1999.  Since 2004 he has served as the organization as Director of Grassroots Programs. In this capacity, Jay oversees political involvement and PAC activities through candidate surfacing and support efforts, as well as general government relations activities on behalf of the organizations 61,000 family members.  Mr. Ferris is recognized throughout the Midwest as and outstanding political consultant and has been actively involved in hundreds of local, state, and national political campaigns.
