BOZEMAN, Montana—Running for office can be exciting, but it can also be daunting to know where to start and what strategies are needed to win. The Montana Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF) is hosting an interactive seminar February 26-27, 2026, at the Montana Farm Bureau Center in Bozeman. The American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) developed this non-partisan training with input from political consultants and staff from both major political parties. The training has an impressive 87 percent success rate from last year, and an overall rate of 82 percent since the school started four decades ago.

American Farm Bureau Federation’s (AFBF) Mike Sistak, who conducted the class for Montana Farm Bureau in 2024, will facilitate the seminar. Mock interviews, a Helena-like reception, and lunch with a Commissioner of Political Practices representative are also included in the agenda. The seminar covers everything from selecting a campaign theme to setting up a campaign structure, and how to raise, manage, and report money. Participation in this seminar provides attendees with the tools needed to win an election.

There is still time to register for this seminar, which is open to all candidates running or considering running for any political office, whether local, state, or federal, as well as their spouses or managers. Montana Farm Bureau members receive a discounted rate of $150; other participants pay $200. Candidates are welcome to bring a spouse or campaign manager for an additional fee.
