NEW ORLEANS – The Montana Farm Bureau has received the Pinnacle Award for Program and Membership Achievement during American Farm Bureau 100th Annual Convention Jan. 11-16 in New Orleans. The Pinnacle Award is the highest honor a state can be awarded for outstanding programs and membership achievement in 2018. Montana Farm Bureau President Hans McPherson accepted the award during the opening session.
Montana Farm Bureau captured four Awards of Excellence. These awards are presented for state Farm Bureaus that demonstrate outstanding achievement in four program areas: excellence in each six program areas to states by membership category size. These included Advocacy; Engagement and Outreach; Leadership and Business Development and Membership Value.
MFBF received the Navigator Award for exceeding state membership growth goals. Charting a course for membership growth, Navigator reflects a state achieving an accelerated pace and surpassing the established quota goal. MFBF was the second state in the nation to make AFBF membership quota. The state’s largest agricultural organization currently has 20,500 member families.
In addition, MFBF received an Apex Award which is achieved when a state has donated 10 percent more to the American Farm Bureau Foundation than during the previous year. The donation total includes gifts from individual members, Silent Auction purchases and investments from state Farm Bureaus.
“It’s very rewarding that Montana Farm Bureau won the Pinnacle Award along with all of our other awards. Having 45 of our members attending this convention makes receiving these awards today especially noteworthy,” noted MFBF President Hans McPherson. “We have an excellent group of volunteers at our county Farm Bureaus who have helped make our Farm Bureau membership grow and programs continually improve. I thank everyone who puts so much effort into making our state Farm Bureau successful and award-winning.”
