May is Membership Month at the Montana Farm Bureau Federation, and the state’s largest general agricultural organization has planned a month of activities both recognizing and recruiting members.
“Montana Farm Bureau’s volunteer members do an amazing job advocating for agriculture and educating others about agriculture. Membership month is the perfect time to get the word out regarding why our members are Farm Bureau Proud,” said Hans McPherson, MFBF president. “We want farmers, ranchers and anyone in our state who has an interest in agriculture, to be a part of our organization. A Farm Bureau membership means you have a voice in Helena and Washington, D.C. Just take a look at everything our lobbyists, with the help of our members, accomplished in the 2021 Legislative Session. Farm Bureau is very well respected on the state and federal levels. Also, Farm Bureau membership benefits can save you a lot of money whether you’re buying a new tractor or taking a trip with your family.”
Farm Bureau offers something for everyone whether you’re a student (Collegiate Farm Bureau), young farmer or rancher (the YF&R Committee), a woman (Women’s Leadership Committee); in addition, farmer and rancher members can serve on Farm Bureau’s variety of advisory committees.
“We’re a very grassroots organization, which really comes to light when you sit through our annual delegate session at our convention or look through our policy book. All of our policy starts at the county Farm Bureau level. Our member board ensures Farm Bureau stays true to its goals of supporting farmers, ranchers and rural Montanans,” said McPherson.
Membership Month is divided into four weeks:
May 1-8 – Farm Bureau Proud Week
May 9-15 – Member Appreciation Week
May 23-29 – Recruitment Week
