I had the opportunity to promote our Foundation at the Montana State Fair in Great Falls. We teamed up with local agents, Randy Bogden, Brett Keaster and Debbie Steffas, who graciously shared their booth space with us in the Livestock Pavilion. Megan Chancellor put together a scavenger hunt for fair-goers that required participants to explore the agricultural exhibits including the livestock, wool, poultry and 4-H/FFA barns. After answering the questions, their information was put into a drawing for an iPod Shuffle, donated by the MFB Foundation. Becca Gerard, from Ulm, MT was drawn as the winner. You can tell by the smile on her face that she was pretty excited for her prize. I had a great time visiting with Farm Bureau members and potential members and encouraging the kids to participate in the scavenger hunt.
On Friday, August 5th, Montana Farm Bureau was the day-sponsor for KMON Radio. Jim Sargent, an active member in Cascade County Farm Bureau, invited us to participate in their live broadcasts throughout the day. I had a chance to sit down with him and promote MFBF and our activities on the air.
Several members from the area came by the booth throughout the week and I enjoyed our time together. I
think our location in the livestock pavilion was perfect for reaching out to our members and meeting new potential members. I would like to thank Randy, Brett and Debbie for letting us take part in the fair with them and also providing great company during the fair!
