Farm Bureau Campaign Seminar set for February
Author
The two-day, interactive, comprehensive seminar takes place February 26-27, 2026, at the Montana Farm Bureau State Office in Bozeman. The training covers everything from selecting a campaign theme to setting up a campaign structure, and how to raise, manage and report money. Participation in this seminar provides attendees with the tools to win an election.
American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) developed the training with input from political consultants and staff from both major political parties. Mike Sistak with American Farm Bureau, who conducted the class in 2024, will facilitate the seminar which is designed for candidates running for public office, their spouses, their managers and individuals considering running.
MFBF 2023 Rookie of the Year Award winner, Representative Russ Miner attended campaign school in 2020 and 2022 to gain the knowledge and skills needed for becoming a successful candidate.
Miner shared that the seminar was an invaluable experience for both him and his wife each time they attended. He emphasized how beneficial it was to hear directly from seasoned legislators and to build confidence for the press through mock television and radio interviews.
“The seminar is very successful in creating candidates who are elected to office, and continue to serve for many years,” the legislator noted.
This seminar is open to all candidates running or considering running for any political office whether local, state or federal. Montana Farm Bureau members receive a discounted rate of $150; other participants pay $200. Candidates are welcome to bring a spouse or campaign manager for an additional fee.
