The past week has been full of opportunities to broaden the education of students across the nation with distance learning. We have been seeing a lot of great agriculture literacy content shared on social media platforms wanted to provide our members and friends with links to direct Ag Accurate resources for your students at home! Check these out!
Our friends at the American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture have our most favorite one stop shop for FREE Ag Literacy Resources. You can download educator guides, lesson plans, print-able materials and so much more. Specific At Home Ag-tivities for parents and students in grades K-12 can be found by clicking here. Additionally, families can visit the My American Farm website to play fun educational games about agriculture!
The National Ag in the Classroom site’s “Student Center” offers kids a chance to learn about all facets of agriculture, including careers, connections to Ag every day, Ag facts by State, and even virtual tours!
Beyond the Barn Door is an Illinois Ag in the Classroom Blog with frequent updates on agriculture all around us! Milk, weather, water and soil are all recent topics that you can visit to learn more about Ag!
If you are interested in limiting screen time and want your students picking up the ‘ol #2 pencil, check out Ranch House Designs printable agriculture worksheets. They are offering 15 printables designed for elementary and preschool age children focusing on livestock specific projects like cattle, horses and pigs.
